Although occasionally blooming on mature plants, tiny, 5-lobed blooms that are normally white will blossom. The flowers, however, are tiny and barely noticeable because they are hidden among the leaves. The leaves' beautiful patterns is what really draw people in.
Propagate the plant by using it pups before it dies after flowering.

PLANT CARE
Sunlight: | Enjoys bright indirect sunlight. Leaves can develop dark stains from prolonged exposure to the sun. If y ou don’t have a window-side location for your Earth Star, you can place it beneath an indoor plant light. |

Watering: | In spring and summer, keep the roots slightly damp but not soggy. Due to its weak roots and lack of a stem, cryptanthus is susceptible to rotting if the soil is left wet. At the time of fall and winter, water sparingly, but don’t let the roots dry up altogether. |
Temperature: | This tropical plant needs temperatures between 60 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit, rising to 80 degrees in the summer. |
Soil: | Potted earth star prefers a rich but well-draining potting mix that should be kept moist but not wet. Potting mix tailored for orchids, with a few handfuls of sand and a few handfuls of peat moss mixed in, is ideal. |
Fertilizer: |

Repotting: | Repot only once in 2 years. Transfer the plant to a pot that is 2 inches larger than the existing one. |
Propagation: | Cut off the offsets (pups) when they reach 3 in (7.5 cm) tall and plant them in fresh, barely moist potting mix. Maintain high humidity for the pups for the first month. |
Dos and Don’ts:
-
Lack of light is the cause of the dull, pale leaves. While keeping it out of the hot, direct sun, which can scorch its leaves, move your plant closer to a window.
• Make sure your plant’s pot have good drainage because this plant is susceptible to root rot and does not like to sit in wet soil. Just make sure to water the plant deeply and let all of the excess water flow out of the drainage holes.
-
Mealy bug infestation is common in this plant. Trim these leaves off, wash the foliage down with cold water, and spray the entire plant down with an insecticide spray designed for houseplants. You can also use a solution of diluted rubbing alcohol that you spray on the plant.

Styling and décor tips:
