Peace lily plants are by far one of the most popular houseplants as they are easy to care for and gorgeous. Peace lilies (Spathiphyllum), also called 'closet plants' because they can grow well in low light conditions.
These plants are commonly given as sympathy gift plants and a sheer glance of the plant fulfils the soul with a feeling of positivity, Hope, tranquillity and Peace. This is due to the presence of white spaths/ flower that symbolizes the same.

Sunlight: | Prefers indirect but bright light. Ideal for keeping in shady balcony or northern facing window-sill. They can survive well in low-light conditions but the plants will rarely bloom. |

Watering: | You only need to water it once the soil is completely dry. Always water thoroughly and let the soil to dry before watering. Avoid Water-logging by emptying water-filled saucer. Constant over-watering may result in root-rot. For Indian climatic conditions, water every alternate day. |
Soil: | It requires rich, well drained and fertile soil. Ensure the soil drains well. Keep the soil moist but not soggy. |
Temperature and Humidity: | The peace lily plants are sensitive to cold temperatures. Temperatures between 65 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit is typically fine. Place the plant away from drafty areas, as well as air-conditioning and heating vents. Try maintaining a humidity level between 30 and 65 percent. You can mist your plant with clean water in a spray bottle daily. |

Take the mature peace lily plant out of the existing pot and check for the crowns it has. Now, divide the plant by taking a crown section away from the mother plant by hand gently, or cut sections away with a sharp knife. The crown should have 2 or more leaves and have roots attached to be propagated separately and successfully. |

Common problems are wilting foliage, yellowish or browning leaves, pest infestation and failure to bloom. Watering issues, lighting conditions and soil issues are most likely causes of these problems. Most problems can be solved as the Peace lily plant is quiet resilient plant.

Carefully follow the watering routine, especially during springs and summers. Under watering is one of the easiest Peace Lily problems to fix. Water your Peace Lily thoroughly, allowing water to flow out of the drainage holes.

The Peace lily plant does not endures frosty conditions well. Hence, place it in an area where itās not too cold.

As per Vastu Shastra, keep your peace lily plant near the window of the bedroom from where it can incite peace, tranquillity and good luck. North facing windows are best as it do not allow direct sunlight all day.
