Plant special features
|Sunlight:||prefers medium to low light/Partial shade. It can survive both direct sunlight as well as low light.|
|Watering:||ZZ Plant prefers less watering and it does better with under watering as well. Avoid over-watering. Water only when the top soil is totally dry. You may water it once in 15 days and in winters, once in 20 days.|
|Temprature:||16-30 degrees Celsius.|
|Soil:||well drained and moist soil rich in organic content.|
|Repotting:||Repot the plant once it is outgrown, with some fresh soil mix and fertilizer. At the time of repotting pick a pot that is at least 1-2 inches bigger than your previous pot. Re-potting to be done late evening. Keep the plant in shady area for 2 to 3 days and then move the plant in its suitable climatic condition.|
|Bloom time:||The flowers are produced in a small bright yellow to brown or bronze spadix 5–7 centimetres (2.0–2.8 in) long; flowering is from mid-summer to early autumn.|
|Propagation:||The plant can be propagated using stem cuttings or by division of the roots rhizome of a mature plant during re-potting.|
Dos and Don’ts:
Clean the leaves of ZZ plant with a solution of little bit of dishwashing detergent / liquid Sanitizer spray and water. Wipe off the leaves after applying solution.
Avoid over-watering especially when the pot does not have drainage holes. Appearance of wrinkled or spotty stem is a sign of over-watering.
Spaced-out leaves is a sign of low – light for a long time. Place the plant in direct sunlight for few hours in every 2 weeks for healthy growth.
Styling and décor tips:
Best as potted plant near the window. It can also be suited as mini wall hanging for interior décor.
Ideal to decorate a light coloured or white walls, its dark green leaves with adorable spikes would give an elegant look along any corner near the white wall.
